Appassionante is a project featuring three professional Italian opera singers – Giorgia Villa, Stefania Francabandiera and Mara Tanchis – bringing together classical music and contemporary pop sound.
Twenty years on stage, five albums and a reputation as ambassadors of Italian culture around the world – APPASSIONANTE is a true vocal ensemble, transcending both time and borders.
The word “appassionante” says exactly what they are about: “passionate”, “captivating” and “moving”.

Their philosophy
Their repertoire is a dialogue between classical tradition and modernity. They take traditional opera arias originally written for tenors and baritones and reinterpret them for their three soprano voices.
“Our main goal is to prove that classical music and opera are truly contemporary. We do not break traditions – we interpret them through the perspective of today.”
Their greatest strength is authentic Italian aesthetics. The concert will feature Regina Della Notte (Mozart), Viva la Vida (C. Martin), O Sole Mio (E. Di Capua), Bohemian Rhapsody (F. Mercury) and, of course, Sweet Dreams (A. Lennox), along with much more – from classical ballads to symphonic rock.
How SWEET DREAMS was born
The legendary Eurythmics hit “Sweet Dreams” is one of their most famous versions, the song that helped launch them internationally in the 2000s.
“Performing an iconic pop hit with opera voices is an incredibly demanding challenge. We completely rewrite the musical architecture of the track, breaking the melody down into complex vocal registers for three sopranos. We add a sense of grandeur and distinctly Italian drama. When the audience hears a familiar melody in a powerful symphonic sound, it sends shivers down their spine.”
